Dr. Saeyoung Chang-Gagnon
As a leading instructional designer, Dr. Chang-Gagnon has over 10 years of experience in organizational learning and development, instructional design, learning experience design, eLearning design, LMS management, and LXP implementation.
As a managing director of Oui Learning Solutions, she has helped organizations in many industries, including high-tech, medical, healthcare, digital marketing, health & wellness, and more. Her client list includes Pinterest, Chopra Global, and VCA hospitals, to name a few.
In addition to her corporate clients, she is currently leading a team of learning experience designers for the central human resources division of the University of Southern California, servicing a 60,000-plus user population.
Dr. Chang-Gagnon has created learning programs for LIM College, Woodbury University, and the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM).
She received a doctorate from the Rossier School of Education of the University of Southern California (USC). Her dissertation research study was to explore the impacts of COVID-19 on the roles and responsibilities, and ecosystems of instructional designers.
Dr. Chang-Gagnon also holds a master’s degree in instructional design and technology from California State University, Fullerton, where she focused her research on creating effective online and hybrid learning programs.
Before her learning design career, Dr. Chang-Gagnon was an established educator and fashion designer and received extensive media recognition. With a bachelor of fine arts degree in textile and photography from the University of Michigan and a fashion design degree from FIDM, Dr. Chang-Gagnon founded an internationally recognized apparel brand, VuCouture Inc., with multiple retail and production locations in the U.S.
Dr. Chang-Gagnon is an International Coaching Federation-certified professional coach and co-chair of the Community Relations and Outreach committee for the Asian Pacific Islander Faculty and Staff Association (APIFSA) at USC. Dr. Chang-Gagnon is a surfer and a certified yoga instructor.
Born in Seoul, Korea, and raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan, she is grateful for her diverse cultural background and experiences that shaped who she is today.
Dr. Chang-Gagnon lives in Los Angeles, CA, with her husband, Mark Chang-Gagnon, two daughters, and two fur babies.
